Hotel Review: Skyline‑View Hotel in Shenzhen Bagualing with Excellent Atmosphere

If you want to enjoy Shenzhen’s skyline without paying luxury-hotel prices, Quanji Hotel is surprisingly good value for money. In a city where hotels with impressive high-rise views can be quite expensive — especially properties such as Mandarin Oriental, The St. Regis, or even the MUJI Hotel — I honestly didn’t expect a more affordable hotel to offer such a spectacular cityscape.

What makes this Quanji Hotel particularly interesting is its location high above Bagualing. From the lobby on the 40th floor, you get a surprisingly wide view over Shenzhen, while the hotel itself remains relatively affordable compared with many of the city’s luxury properties. If your priority is the view rather than a five-star hotel experience, this could be a very interesting option to consider.

📍 Practical Information

  • Name of the Hotel: Quanji Hotel (全季酒店)

  • Location: Ba Gua Ling · The Prime Building (Suibao One), only 90 meters from Exit D of Bagualing Metro Station

  • Nearest Metro Station: Bagualing Station, Exit D — about 150 meters

  • Opening Hours: 24 hours

🏙️ Experience

Getting to the hotel is a little unusual. You first take an elevator to the 36th floor, then transfer to another elevator to reach the lobby on the 40th floor.

📚The 36th floor is home to a cloud-level library jointly created by The Prime and Futian District Library. It is reportedly one of the highest public libraries in Futian. Even more surprisingly, the library is free and open to the public, yet when I visited, there were barely any people around.(Although my picutes showcased nighttime, it's the same case when it comes to daytime.)

💁 At the lobby, you can check in either through the self-service machines or with the assistance of the staff. The process was straightforward, and the staff were happy to help when needed. We were also given two complimentary bottles of water after check-in.

One of the biggest highlights is the lobby itself. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows offer a panoramic view of Shenzhen, and on a clear day, the skyline is wondefully mesmorizting. At night, if you look down from the windows, you can even see the tennis courts and people enjoying various activities below, giving you interesting glimpse into everyday life in Shenzhen.

We booked the room for a client, so we paid extra attention to making sure everything was in order before the stay. However, there was one small issue during our visit.

Our client noticed a slight smell of cigarette smoke in the room 🚬. We contacted the front desk, and they immediately arranged another room for us.

It was obviously not an ideal first impression, but I appreciated how quickly the hotel handled the problem.

🍜 Breakfast was another pleasant surprise. According to what my client told me, there was a fairly wide selection of dishes, with options that should suit different tastes, including both Chinese and more familiar Western-style breakfast choices. Our client was very satisfied with the variety.

For a business trip, I think this is particularly convenient because you can have a proper breakfast without needing to leave the hotel and search for a restaurant first thing in the morning.

👍 Another practical advantage is the free laundry and drying service. This was especially appreciated by our client, who mentioned that laundry and drying services can be surprisingly expensive in the U.S. For travelers staying several days, especially business travelers, I think this is one of those small conveniences that can make a noticeable difference.

📚 Overall Review

Overall, the hotel itself is comfortable, but for me, the biggest advantages are the combination of location, high-floor views, and price.

It works well for both leisure and business stays. The location is particularly convenient if you need to travel around Shenzhen, with Bagualing Metro Station just a short walk away. However, there are a few things worth knowing before booking.

The nearest shopping mall is about 1.2 km away, so the immediate neighborhood isn't the best choice if you want to step outside and go shopping or café-hopping.

One thing I should mention is that I was not the one staying in the room throughout the entire visit. I booked the hotel for my client, so my observations are mainly based on the hotel's location, facilities, public areas, and the overall experience I had while accompanying my client. I therefore can't give a completely comprehensive assessment of what it's like to stay here long-term or experience every aspect of the guest room.

My client was satisfied with the stay, and honestly, that's what matters most to me. Therefore, there will be no verdict placed in this article.

Things to notice:

⚠️ There aren’t any coffee shops nearby, not even a Starbucks. If you want a cup of coffee, you’ll have to order it through a delivery app.

⚠️ No exchange service around, you need to do it before arriving at the hotel.
