Gankeng Ancient Town Night Show Review🎆 Is the 48 RMB Ticket Worth It? 🎆

If you plan to visit Gankeng Ancient Town, here’s one more thing you should know: you really must visit it at night! I actually discovered some of the nighttime activities when I brought two foreign teachers here for a visit. Even as a local, I had never experienced some of these shows before. Honestly, I was absolutely blown away! 😲

Some of the performances were genuinely spectacular, and I think they’re worth experiencing even if you’ve already visited Gankeng Ancient Town during the day.

⚠️ Why Visit at Night?

🔸 The streets light up beautifully. All kinds of colourful lanterns glow along the streets, creating a stunning atmosphere. 💕 Some of the lantern designs are also really creative.

🔸 Many visitors dress up in traditional Chinese outfits or cosplay. With the old buildings, lanterns, and traditional costumes all around you, it really feels like you’ve stepped into another era.

🔸 There are also various performances at night, making the whole ancient town much more lively.

This time, we watched the Gankeng Night Show.

🎫 Tickets: RMB 48 per person
There are two sessions available, and the show runs at different times throughout the evening. We chose the 20:30–21:30 session.

Iron Flower Show — Breathtaking ❗️

The sparks explode across the night sky, creating a spectacular display and showcasing this traditional art form that has been passed down for centuries.

Flying Fire Pot Show — Pretty Cool!

Tiny flames fall from above like shooting stars, creating a scene that feels straight out of a Chinese martial arts movie.

💬 Other Performances

The rest of the performances were okay — nothing too special.

The singing and dancing segments had relatively few performers. Personally, I couldn’t help wondering if they were just trying to save money by cutting down the number of dancers. 😐

But the organizer is smart because the Iron Flower Show and Flying Fire Pot Show are saved for the very end.

So, make sure you stay until the end! Once you’ve seen these two performances, the RMB 48 ticket definitely feels worth it. 👍
