Shenzhen Metro Line 11 Sea View Ride: Ocean Scenery From Bao’an Airport to Bihai Bay at Sunset

To be honest, I didn’t expect Shenzhen to have a metro line where you can actually see the sea. You really can’t miss it!

When you leave the airport and head toward the metro station, you’ll be greeted by this beautiful view.

The sea view is on Metro Line 11 — not to be confused with Line 1, which doesn’t offer the same scenery. The section between Bao’an Airport and Bihai Bay offers a surprisingly close-up view of the sea 🌊.

It’s easily one of the most relaxing and unique metro rides in Shenzhen.

We rode in the business-class carriage, which you can access by tapping your metro card before entering the platform for the business carriage. This is important — if you don’t tap your card first, you won’t be allowed to enter.

Inside, you’ll find a skylight-style ceiling ☁️ and comfortable, soft seats 🪑, making the ride even more enjoyable.

For the best experience, I recommend going around 5–6 PM.

If the timing is right, you may be able to catch the sunset over the sea, and the view can be absolutely stunning. 🌇

Bring a light jacket if you get cold easily, as the air-conditioning inside the carriage can be quite chilly. 🥶
