It's no surprised to find such a budget‑friendly cinema in Dongmen. Dongmen has long been known as one of Shenzhen’s earliest hubs for affordable shopping and entertainment, and even the cinema here offers incredible value for money.
📍 Practical Information
Name of the Place: Hacker Cinema (核客影城)
Location: 5th Floor, Dongmen Department Store Plaza, Luohu District, Shenzhen
Nearest Metro Station: Laojie Station, Line 1 — Exit C / Dongmen Station, Line 5 — Exit J1

The exterior of the cinema looks nice—spacious and bright. On the left, there’s a row of promotional banners, while on the right, you’ll find an e‑sports room 💻.
At first, it felt a bit cold outside the cinema 🥶, and I almost thought of going back for a jacket. But inside, the temperature was fine—short sleeves and shorts were no problem.
The cinema even provides free lockers for storing your belongings 🙌.

🎬 Movie Experience
The screening hall isn’t very large, but the rows of seats are fairly spacious. However, the seats are not very high, so if someone taller sits in front of you, your view may be partially blocked.
The leather seats are also quite worn. If you’re particular about the condition of the seats, you may want to wear long pants or a skirt.

The screen itself isn’t very big.
I expected the movie to be shown across the full screen, but even the pre-movie advertisements didn’t fill the entire screen. I’m not sure whether this was intentional or a technical issue.

The sound quality was decent.
However, since the hall is relatively small, the sound of doors opening and closing when people leave during the movie can be noticeable.

(Movie night for Backroom Yay!)
📚Overall Experience
Still, the value for money is unbeatable. At just 27.9 RMB per person, you really can’t ask for much more 🙌.
At least you’re guaranteed a proper viewing experience, and honestly, I’d come back again 💖 for its value.
