Every year, Shenzhen has many beautiful flower fields that are perfect for taking photos. But for me, many of them are either too far away, have far fewer flowers than the photos suggest, or have a very short blooming period.
This time, however, the Xianhu Bougainvillea Flower Sea, which I had missed countless times, is blooming again!
The best part is that it is right in Luohu District, making it particularly convenient for tourists to visit. It is also next to Xianhu Botanical Garden, one of Shenzhen's most famous attractions.
The scene was truly breathtaking. The bougainvilleas now bloom approximately twice a year, so if you happen to be visiting Shenzhen during the blooming season, I highly recommend coming here for some photos. 📸

Name of the Place: Liantang Xianhu （Fairy Lake） Botanical Garden Entrance Parking Lot（莲塘仙湖植物园停车场）
Nearest Metro Station: Xianhu Road Station, Line 8 — Exit C3, 700 meters on foot
Visiting Flowers at Parking Lot: Free of charge (¥0) — but entry into the Botanical Garden itself requires a ticket
🌸 My Experience
The entire parking lot is four stories high, and the exterior of each level is covered with bougainvillea. The flowers make the whole parking structure look incredibly lively and colorful.
The bougainvilleas are mainly red, with occasional white and yellow flowers. They look especially beautiful against the blue sky and the yellow-tiled roofs.
You can walk up the stairs on the right side of the parking lot to enjoy both the flowers and the scenery. Many women come dressed in beautiful outfits specifically for photos, with flowing dresses creating a particularly lovely scene among the flowers. Many people also bring cameras and photography equipment with them.
However, there are a lot of people coming here to take photos. You may need to find your own opportunity and wait for a suitable corner to get a good shot. At particularly busy times, so many visitors come that some of the parking spaces are also occupied by people taking photos.
Since it can be crowded and the weather can be hot, remember to bring an umbrella for sun protection and rain. You should also take precautions against mosquito bites and pollen allergies.
I would recommend coming early in the morning if possible. The weather is more pleasant, and there are fewer people.
🎒 What to Prepare
If you are planning to visit the Xianhu Bougainvillea Flower Sea for photos, I recommend bringing:
An umbrella for sun and rain
Sunscreen
Mosquito repellent
Water
A nice outfit for taking photos
A camera or other photography equipment
⚠️ Important Note
Do not enter from the road on the left side facing the parking lot.
That road is an exit lane for vehicles and can be dangerous. However, many people still enter from this side. I do not recommend doing so. ❌
