I have to say, I’ve already been to Zhulahu three times. The first time, I discovered it near my home and was amazed by how good the sandwiches were. They’re filling, reasonably priced, and honestly offer great value for money.
After going back twice more, I can say that this isn’t just a place I liked on my first visit. The portions are generous, the flavors are satisfying, and there’s always something new to try. So when I heard they had released a special sandwich set for their 6th anniversary, I obviously had to go back and give it a try. 😂

I honestly can’t believe this shop has been here for four years and I only discovered it because it happened to be near my new home.
🎉 Tried Their 6th Anniversary New Release: Pineapple Egg Sandwich Set
For their 6th anniversary, True Love launched a new pineapple egg sandwich set. Each item in the set comes with several choices, so you can customize your meal depending on what you like.
🍍 Pineapple Grilled Chicken Thick‑Egg Sandwich
The moment it came out of the kitchen, I was genuinely surprised by the size of the sandwich. The portion was huge!
Inside, you get:
A thick slice of pineapple
A large grilled chicken fillet
A fluffy layer of thick egg
Salad dressing and seaweed flakes
The combination of sweet pineapple with savory grilled chicken and fluffy egg worked surprisingly well. The pineapple added a refreshing sweetness, while the chicken and egg made the sandwich much more filling.
🥔 Golden Hash Brown
The hash brown was freshly fried and served piping hot, with a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy center. The shop also provides small packets of sweet plum powder. Sprinkle it over the hash brown and give it a shake . The sweet and slightly tangy flavor makes the hash brown even more addictive.
🥤 Iced Lemon Coke
The iced lemon Coke was a great match for the sandwich. The combination of lemon, ice, and cola was refreshing and helped cut through some of the richness of the sandwich and hash brown.
📚 Overall Experience
After three visits, I can say that True Love is definitely one of those small local spots that I’m happy to go back to. The sandwiches are flavorful, the portions are generous, and most importantly, they’re really filling.
The prices are also very reasonable. At around RMB 25 per person, I think it offers great value for money, especially if you’re looking for a quick breakfast or afternoon tea that will actually keep you full.
The shop is clean and tidy, and the staff are very polite. However, the space is quite limited, with only two tables available. The staff are also often busy preparing orders, so sometimes the tables outside haven’t been cleared yet when you arrive. There isn’t a trash bin nearby either, which can make the area feel a little messy and the overall dining experience less comfortable.
For this reason, I’d personally recommend getting your food to go rather than planning to sit down and eat here.
Although Shaibu Station is the nearest metro station, the shop is located right in the Dongmen commercial area, where there are plenty of places to explore, shop, and eat. The shop itself is also inside a mall called Xinhe Bu Ye Tian, so you can easily combine a visit here with a walk around Dongmen and check out some of the other shops and local food nearby.
