To be honest, I rarely come to Pingshan. Most of the time, I only come here when my friends bring me, mainly because it’s quite far from the central areas of Shenzhen. Today was no exception—I came here because my bestie brought me along.
Today, I went to Yitian Holiday Plaza in Pingshan with my partner and my bestie to look for something good to eat. Since we had already tried several similar restaurants in other malls, we thought about it for a while and eventually decided on Wu Zhuang (吴莊), a Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisine restaurant with relatively light flavors.
I also noticed that some of the dishes on the menu were surprisingly affordable, so we decided to give it a try.

📍 Practical Information
Name of the Restaurant: Wu Zhuang (吴莊)
Location: 深圳市坪山区益田假日广场3楼01号;Shop 01, 3rd Floor, Yitian Holiday Plaza, Pingshan District, Shenzhen
Nearest Metro Station: Liuhe Station — Exit B1, 300‑meter walk
Price: ¥70 per person
Opening Hours: 11:00–14:00; 16:30–21:00
🌲 Environment
The restaurant is quite nicely decorated, with a somewhat winding layout that gives it a feeling of “a hidden path leading to somewhere unexpected.” The decor also has a certain sense of style, and the seats are comfortable. Personally, though, I felt that the lighting was slightly too dim.

💁 Service
The service was very friendly and attentive. The staff also proactively recommended set meals.
However, there was one thing I wasn’t very happy about. We were told that we could use a ¥10 new-customer coupon, but after we finished paying, we realized that the ¥10 discount had not actually been deducted.
🍜 Food Experience
We ordered a two-person set meal, and surely the portion is good enough to serve more than 2 people.

🏆 Stir-Fried Potato Strips – ¥8
This price was honestly something I didn’t expect—the value for money was excellent ❗ The portion was generous, and there was plenty of wok hei. The potato strips were very crisp and refreshing, and they were especially good with rice.
They could actually be even better with some chili, which is a common way of preparing this dish in China. However, my bestie isn’t very good with spicy food, so we asked them to leave out the chili. Even without it, the potato strips were still really tasty.

🏆 Beijing Roast Duck
The flavor was pretty good. There were also plenty of pancakes. The combination of crispy, juicy duck meat with the warm, soft pancakes was quite satisfying.

✅ Stir-Fried Water Spinach
This one was alright. It tasted freshly stir-fried and had plenty of wok hei as well.

✅ Taro with Pork Tripe
This was just average. The flavor was quite light, and I felt that the pork tripe wasn’t seasoned enough.

❌ Iron Plate Squid
This one was really disappointing. The squid was soft and lacked the crisp, springy texture I expected. It gave me a very less-than-fresh impression. The seasoning was also too heavy, making it taste quite salty.
We also ordered two extra-large cups of lemon tea 🍋, but my bestie said that they tasted pretty much like Master Kong lemon tea. To be honest, they had a rather cheap-tasting quality.

Overall Experience
Overall, I found the food just average. None of the dishes really stood out, although the ¥8 stir-fried potato strips were definitely a great deal.
I think it’s fine for a casual meal if you happen to be at Yitian Holiday Plaza in Pingshan, but there wasn’t anything particularly memorable about the food for me.
