Guangxi-Style BBQ in Shenzhen: Unique Grilled Beef Skewers & Sweet-and-Sour Noodles

As someone from Guangdong, I always assumed that BBQ across China was pretty much the same, with the main differences being whether it was spicy and what ingredients were used. But my recent visit to this Guangxi-style BBQ restaurant completely changed my mind and opened my eyes to a whole new world of regional flavors.

Wu Zhuang Jiangsu & Zhejiang Cuisine at Yitian Holiday Plaza Pingshan, Shenzhen

To be honest, I rarely come to Pingshan. Most of the time, I only come here when my friends bring me, mainly because it’s quite far from the central areas of Shenzhen. Today was no exception—I came here because my bestie brought me along.

Yudu Laowei Seafood Noodles at Zhuoyue Center: A Review of the New Noodle Shop

There’s a new noodle shop on B2 of One Avenue ! When I first noticed the restaurant, I saw “Michelin” featured prominently in its advertising. To be honest, I initially assumed it was just a marketing gimmick. But I later heard that the restaurant has actually received Michelin recognition in Shanghai, which made me curious to see whether it could still live up to that reputation after coming to Guangdong.

Tang Xin Tian Pu in Luohu, Shenzhen: A Review of Its New Black Sesame Desserts

Cheryl Kong | 2026-10-17

Tang Xin Tian Pu has launched some exciting new desserts! ❗️ I previously reviewed its branch in Huaqiangbei, and this time, its black sesame-themed collection has truly won the hearts of dessert lovers. 💖 A new branch has also just opened in Guomao, Luohu, so I had to stop by today and try several of its new creations.

Chinese Dessert Store

📍 Practical Information

Shop Name: Tang Xin Tian Pu (溏心甜铺)

Location: 1st Floor, Spring, Guomao, Luohu District, Shenzhen, China

Nearest Metro Station: Guomao Station (Line 1), Exit B, approximately a 200-meter walk

Price: Approximately RMB 25 per person

Opening Hours: 10:00 AM–10:00 PM

🙌 Food Experience

I tried three new black sesame-themed desserts this time, and each one had its own distinctive flavors and delightful surprises. 👍

🏆 My Favorite: Black Sesame Milk Tea

I have to say this one is easily my favourite. The black sesame flavor is strong, with three distinct layers: a creamy milk foam topping, milk tea, and black sesame jelly. The combination creates a rich texture that makes every sip satisfying.

My favorite detail was the crunchy wheat crisps sprinkled on top of the milk foam. They had a lovely caramel-like flavor that really enhanced the aroma of the black sesame. It was a small thing that made a big difference!

👍 Black Sesame Shaved Ice Family Platter

This dessert is perfect for sharing with friends. It comes loaded with toppings, so you can enjoy taro balls, grass jelly, mango 🥭, red beans, and sago pearls all in one bowl.

Once the warm black sesame sauce is poured over everything, the rich, nutty aroma becomes absolutely irresistible. It's packed with different textures in every spoonful.

👍 Black Sesame Coconut Jelly

This one was delicious, too! It features black sesame ice cream and a black sesame biscuit that is crunchy fragrant(purely made of black sesame). There are also popping boba and milk jelly inside, while the overall flavor leans more toward the taste of coconut.

One thing I particularly love was how refreshing all three desserts felt. Even after trying them, I didn't feel overwhelmed by sweetness or experience that heavy, overly rich feeling you sometimes get after eating desserts.

🌲 Shop Environment

Apart from the indoor kitchen, the seating area is entirely outdoors and open-air. There are both hard stools and softer seats, although I think the shop could benefit from providing a few more soft seats.

While enjoying your desserts, you can watch people coming and going and take in the panoramic view of the interior of Guomao. It's a rather relaxing place to sit back and enjoy a sweet treat while taking a break from shopping.

🍴 Service

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, the service was good, and I had no complaints.

📚 Overall Experience

Overall, I had a very enjoyable dessert experience at Tang Xin Tian Pu's Guomao branch. The new black sesame collection offers a nice variety of flavors and textures, and I especially recommend the black sesame milk tea, which was my personal favorite.

If you're shopping around Guomao in Luohu, Shenzhen, this is a great spot to take a relaxing break, recharge with some desserts, and enjoy a little sweetness along the way. 💗
