Among the many Chinese-style pastry shops that have emerged across China over the past decade or so, Bao's Pastry is definitely one of the more prominent names. The brand is widely known for popularizing pork floss pastries, especially its signature pork floss cake.

Xiangshan Suyuan Pudding Cakes: Delicious Thick Milk Pudding Treats in Dongmen Shenzhen

There are so many pastry shops like this in Shenzhen that, honestly, they can sometimes start to feel a little too similar. Many of them offer the same kinds of cute, creamy, and Instagram-friendly desserts, so after seeing so many of them, I don’t always find them particularly exciting anymore.

I didn’t expect to find a brand-new donut shop here in Luohu. The shop itself is really eye-catching, with its warm yellow color immediately standing out and making me want to take a closer look. 🍩💛 The donuts on the shelves also looked incredibly cute and well-presented, which caught my attention right away.

Holiland Bakery at Shenzhen King Glory Plaza: Fresh Bread & Desserts but Needs Further Review

Holiland is a well-known bakery brand in China, but interestingly, its early popularity wasn't entirely about how good its cakes tasted. The brand became famous online partly because of its attractive, stylish staff, especially the good-looking young men and women working in its stores.

Guang Tai Men Mille-feuille in Dongmen Shenzhen: A Delicious Childhood Favorite

Cheryl Kong | 2026-10-17

To be honest, most bakeries in Dongmen don't offer anything particularly distinctive, and many of their products look pretty similar. I wasn't sure what to buy that day, so I decided to give something a try based on recommendations from other customers online. I have never thought that one bite was all it took to win me over! The Mille-feuille at Guangtai Men is seriously delicious!

📍 Practical Information

Location: 2003 Jiefang Road, Dongmen Subdistrict, Shenzhen(right across Macdonald)

Nearest Metro Station: Laojie Station, Exit C

Price: ¥20 per person

Guang TaiMen

🔥 Food Experience

A box with four pieces of Mille-feuille costs just RMB 11.80.

Mille-feuille

The Mille-feuille at Guangtai Men have biscuit layers on both sides. When you take a bite, you get a lovely balance of sweet and salty flavors. 🍪 First comes the smooth, creamy filling, followed by a slightly more substantial, flaky pastry filling and crunchy nuts. 🌰 The different textures and flavors are beautifully layered, making each bite a delightful surprise.

I couldn't resist eating two pieces, and surprisingly, they weren't overly sweet or heavy.

Even better, these pastries taste remarkably similar to the Napoleon pastries I used to eat as a child. They have a slightly thick, substantial texture rather than being two dry, hard pieces of cake. One bite brought back all those childhood memories! 💝

🌲 Shop Environment and Service

I've heard that there can be queues during peak hours, but when I visited at around 9 PM, it wasn't particularly crowded.

The store itself is quite spacious and brightly lit. One thoughtful detail I appreciated was that the pickup window had a small curtain to help keep out dust.

🍰 The shop also offers several items you don't often see in other Chinese pastry shops, such as red bean cakes, oversized walnut scones, and pistachio puff pastry rolls. They all looked pretty tempting!

The service was great, too. The staff were quick and attentive, and the entire purchasing process was smooth and hassle-free.

📚Overall Experience

Overall, I highly recommend trying the Mille-feuille at Guangtai Men if you're visiting Dongmen in Shenzhen. They're absolutely delightful and well worth the money! 💕I haven't tried the other items yet, so I'll leave those for another visit rather than comment on something I haven't tasted.
