Unlike Hong Kong, where restaurants tucked away inside office buildings are fairly common, Shenzhen doesn’t have quite as many. If I hadn’t come across this restaurant online, I probably would never have known it existed. Luckily, the food turned out to be surprisingly good, and the open-air terrace felt almost like a little garden in the sky, a peaceful place to escape from the busy city and unwind after work.

🌲 Environment

The restaurant is filled with a warm, tropical South‑China vibe.Bright lighting, spacious seating, and soft‑cushioned chairs make it very comfortable to sit and enjoy a long meal.

💁 Service

The service here is genuinely excellent. One of the staff members was especially passionate — she even helped us cook the chicken in the pot.She also explained which sauces were spicier and asked whether we needed extra condiments. This kind of hands-on service made the whole experience much easier, especially for first-time customers who might not know exactly how long to cook the chicken.

🍲 Dining Experience

Although the restaurant is best known for its coconut chicken, we decided to try the Stone Olive Soup Base with Crispy-Skin Chicken Pot🫒 this time.

🌿 A little food fact!

Stone olive (石橄榄) is a popular ingredient in southern China, especially in Guangdong. It’s commonly used in soups, where it develops a naturally sweet and refreshing flavor. You’ll often find it paired with ingredients such as chicken or abalone to make nourishing soups.

You can mix your own dipping sauce: scallions, cilantro, chili paste, and more. There are also refreshing appetizers like pickled radish and marinated wood ear mushrooms. They even have a poster telling you how to mix a good sauce.

The restaurant divides the best cuts into five plates. They will tell you how to cook chicken to a perfect texture(usually 15 seconds is enough). I really love the crispy skin and tender meat, the freshness brings out the sweetness, and it was chewy. The bottom plate includes chicken kidneys and tiny chicken eggs. The kidneys were especially flavorful .

We thought the portion looked small at first, but by the third plate we were already getting full (that's why we recommend ordering a plate of vegetables)

To finish, you can cook Hainan rice noodles. They soften in about 30 seconds. They were smooth, lightly sweet, and perfect for balancing the richness of the broth.

📚 Overall Experience

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. The chicken was fresh, tender, and truly a delight to eat, while the broth had a clean and comforting flavor. The biggest highlight for me was getting to experience different cuts and textures of the chicken, and the staff’s guidance made it easy to get the cooking time just right.

The restaurant is also extremely convenient, located right outside Luohu Station and just a short distance from Hong Kong. Since it’s inside a shopping mall, you can also take a quick look around before or after your meal. However, the mall is mainly focused on restaurants and massage shops, so there isn’t actually much shopping to do.

If you happen to be passing through the area or staying at the nearby Shangri-La, I’d recommend stopping by and giving it a try.
